Aunt Kim's 30th Birthday

We were so excited that Kim was in Houston for her birthday this year.  It was awesome getting to spend her birthday with her.  Hey Kim - Doesn't it seem like just yesterday we spent your 25th birthday together in Rome?  We went to Soma on Washington for dinner and had a lovely time.  Pierce was on his best behavior.  He slept most of the time.  Mimi fed him dinner.  We had the most interesting dessert.  It was ice cream made with dry ice.  Happy 30th Birthday Kimmy - We love you bunches and bunches!!!  XO

Pierce is three weeks old already.  It is hard to believe that three weeks have already passed by.  He is 8 pounds 2 ounces now.  He definitely likes to eat, and he is growing and growing.  He spends most of his time sleeping, and he eats every two to three hours.  We think that he is having a growth spurt because he has been eating quite a bit lately.  He is a very good baby.  The only times that he cries is when he is hungry, sometimes when he is getting a diaper change, and sometimes during his bath.  He is still wearing newborn clothes.  He wears 0-3 months clothes occasionally, but they are still big on him. 

We love the way that he sleeps with his arms and sometimes his feet in the air.  He holds onto our hands or the bottle while he is eating.  When he eats, he makes the cutest noises.  I think that he is letting us know that he is content and happy.  He loves to look around.  He is currently sleeping in a bassinet in our bedroom.  We wake up every two to three hours to feed him during the night.  He likes to be swaddled while he is sleeping at night. 

I knew that parenthood would be amazing, and I've waited my entire life for this opportunity.  Pierce has brought us an enormous amount of joy and happiness.  Motherhood is even better than I imagined it would be.  Life is great in the Applewhite household.

 Finally, Pierce meets his Mimi and Grandpa.  They are back from their vacation,

and they came right over to see him. 

 Mimi and Grandpa enjoy visiting with Pierce.

 This is the first grandbaby on the Vilyus side of the family.

 We went to a breast feeding support group.  There were about 15-babies there, and Pierce was the only baby that wasn't screaming.  He got an E in conduct.  :)

 After the class, we had lunch at Papasitos.

Before heading home, we stopped at Target.  This was Pierce's first shopping trip.
