Two Months Old

August 4, 2011

Pierce is two months old.

It's hard to believe that our sweet little boy is two months old already.  He is getting so big and doing more and more.  His latest development is smiling and cooing.  He is so happy in the mornings.  He sleeps in a sleep sack (swaddle sack - like a sleeping bag).  He has been sleeping about 5-6 hours a night.  The peditrician told us that anything longer than three hours is great, and she made sure that I knew how lucky we are for this.  When he wakes up, he looks around and makes noises.  As soon as I undo his sleep sack, he raises his arms in the air and stretches.  He stretches his arms and legs.  It is so cute!  He likes to smile at us with big huge smiles.  He is sleeping less and less during the day so I am having to get more and more creative on how to keep him entertained.  We are still going to our play group on Tuesdays, and I am going to start attending a Baby, Birth & Beyond support group on Thursdays.  Pierce had his two month shots yesterday.  He is 22 inches long and weights 10 lbs. 10 oz.  He is a growing boy!  He still loves the swing, and he is enjoying his play mat more and more.  He likes to swing his arms and hit the toys.  His grip is getting stronger, and we balance him on his legs too.  They are also getting strong.  The Applewhite household is a busy place that is centered around our sweet little growing boy.  Happy Two Months Baby Pierce.  You are our precious angel, and we love you so much!

Hand Discovery

Pierce has discovered his hands.  Since he was born, he has put his hands in his mouth when he is hungry.  He now enjoys sucking on his hands.  Of course, I think that it is cute.  I don't mind giving him a pacifier, but he seems to enjoy his hands just as much.  Hey...whatever makes him happy!!!
